Company Operating Name: Canada Royal Milk ULC Business Address: 1680 Venture Dr, Kingston, ON K7P 0E9 All other locations with full addresses where the employee will work: 1680 Venture Dr, Kingston, ON K7P 0E9 Title of the Position: Instrumentation Technician Number of Positions Available: 1 Job Duties: Automation & Control Systems - Develop, modify, and troubleshoot PLC logic and HMI interfaces for process and packaging equipment. - Assist in design, documentation, and implementation of control strategies. - Maintain electrical control systems, instrumentation networks, and equipment databases. Instrumentation - Calibrate and verify pressure, flow, temperature, pH, and vacuum instrumentation. - Inspect, isolate, and repair instrumentation and control systems. - Conduct performance evaluations of instruments and implement optimization improvements. Maintenance & Troubleshooting - Perform routine and corrective maintenance on automated systems and instrumentation. - Diagnose issues using test equipment, schematics, and technical documentation. - Assist with system commissioning, start-up, and shutdown procedures. Project & Documentation - Support capital and improvement projects related to automation and instrumentation. - Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with internal quality systems and external regulatory requirements. - Assist with procurement and inventory of critical parts and spare components. Safety & Compliance - Follow and promote all safety procedures, GMP, and food safety regulations. - Participate in risk assessments and hazard analyses related to instrumentation and automation systems. Team Collaboration - Work closely with Maintenance, Quality Assurance, and Production to resolve technical challenges. - Support and train colleagues in automation system best practices. (e.g. prescription drugs, paramedical services, medical services and equipment) Location of Work (local area, city or town): Kingston, Ontario Contact Information: Apply with a cover letter and resume to careers@canadaroyalmilk.com Skill Requirements (includes education and work experience): Education Completion of a four- or five-year apprenticeship program in industrial instrument repair OR Completion of a at least a two-year post-secondary program in industrial instrumentation technology or a related discipline Experience - Minimum 2-3 years in a manufacturing or processing environment. - Proficient with PLCs (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens), HMIs, SCADA, and industrial networking. - Hands-on experience with a variety of instrumentation and process control systems. - Familiar with VFDs, pumps, valves, sensors, and industrial automation components. Technical Skills - Advanced troubleshooting of electrical, pneumatic, and electronic systems. - Competent in reading and interpreting technical schematics and wiring diagrams. - Experience with CMMS/ERP systems; MS Office proficiency.
