Employer: Apex Beauty Ltd. o/a Chatters Hair Salon Job location: #38, 1644 Hillside Ave, Victoria, BC, V8T 2C5 Vacancies: 3 Vacancies Salary: $21.00 / Hour for 35-40 Hours / Week Terms of employment: Permanent, Full time Start date: As soon as possible Benefits: Health Benefits: health care plan and dental plan after 6 months of employment; Financial benefits: RRSP after 6 months of employment, performance-based bonus, gratuities, eligible for service and sales commission; Other benefits: free parking available, other benefits Employment conditions: Morning, Day, Evening, Weekend Languages: English Education: Some High School required Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years Personal Suitability: Reliability, team player, efficient interpersonal skills, client focus, dependability Tasks: Cut, trim, taper, curl, wave, perm and style hair; Cut and trim hair according to client's instructions or preferences; Suggest hair style compatible with client's physical features or determine style from client's instructions and preferences; Analyze hair and scalp condition; Provide custom hair and scalp treatment; Advice clients on beauty care treatments; Apply hair extensions; Apply bleach, tints, dyes or rinses to colour, frost or streak hair; Provide other hair treatment, such as waving, straightening and tinting and also provide scalp conditioning massages; Shave and trim beards and mustaches; Supervise apprentices/students in training; Book appointments; Shampoo customers' hair; Perform receptionist duties; Maintain and order supplies Hair Styling Techniques: Blow drying, Iron waving/curling, Permanents, Roller setting, Extensions, Hair braiding Hair Colouring Techniques: Bleach, Dyes/tints, Frosting, Streaking/highlights Work Setting: Hairstyling salon; urban area Work Site Environment: Noisy, odours Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environments; Repetitive tasks; Attention to detail; Standing for extended periods; Risks of slip and fall injuries; Use of electrical tools; Use of sharp objects, Use of chemical products Underrepresented groups are encouraged to apply: Youth, Persons with disabilities, Indigenous people, Newcomers to Canada, asylum seekers and Refugees.
