Machi Sushi is currently seeking a dedicated and reliable Cook to join our team. This is a full-time, permanent position in a fast-paced restaurant setting located in an urban area away from downtown. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, the ability to work under pressure with Japanese cuisine experience and a commitment to quality food preparation and kitchen operations. Title of position: Cook No. of Positions: 1 Terms of employment: Full-time Permanent Wages: $26/hour Hours of work: 32.5-40 Hours/week, variable on business’s needs Benefits: 4% vacation pay Location of work: 2583 Cadboro Bay Rd, Victoria, BC Responsibilities & Tasks -Prepare & cook complete meals or individual dishes -Inspect kitchens & food service areas - Train staffs in preparation, cooking & handling of food - Order supplies & equipment - Maintain inventory & records of food, supplies & equipment - Clean kitchen & work areas - Manage kitchen operations - Help cut sashimi and make sushi rolls when needed Qualifications: - Secondary (high school) education required - Minimum 3 years of cooking experience - 1-2 years’ Japanese cuisine experience is an asset Requirements: - Attention to detail - Able to work in a fast-paced environment - Client-focused and reliable - Organized team player; able to work independently - Able to perform physically demanding, repetitive tasks - Standing for extended periods; work under pressure How to apply: Please email resume to: hrmachisushi@yahoo.com By mail: 2583 Cadboro Bay Rd, Victoria, BC, By phone: 250 217 3059
