Work site environment: At heights, Noisy, Dusty Work setting: Construction Job duties: • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine specifications and calculate material requirements. • Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other construction materials. • Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems. • Prepare layouts in conformance with building codes using appropriate measurement tools. • Schedule and coordinate work on job sites, including surveying building locations and levels. • Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, moldings, and hardware. • Maintain, repair, and renovate residential structures. • Provide guidance to trainees and supervise other workers when required.
