Uptown Grill, located at 102 - 46168 Yale Road, Chilliwack, BC V2P 0J6 is seeking to hire two permanent full-time Kitchen Helpers to join its staff. These positions are available to be filled immediately. Specific duties include: Clean and sanitize kitchen including work surfaces, cupboards, storage areas, appliances and equipment Receive, unpack and store supplies in refrigerators, freezers, cupboards and other storage areas Wash, peel and cut vegetables and fruit Use manual and electrical appliances to clean, peel, slice and trim foodstuffs Prepare, heat and garnish simple food items Clean and sanitize items such as dishwasher mats, carts and waste disposal units Package take-out food Portion and wrap foods Load buspans and trays Operate dishwashers to wash dishes, glassware and flatware Place dishes in storage area Replenish condiments and other supplies at tables and serving areas Sanitize and wash dishes and other items by hand Keep records of the quantities of food used Handle and store cleaning products Remove kitchen garbage and trash Specific Requirements of the Job include: Ability to work well in a fast paced environment, under time pressure Standing for long periods of time during their shift; meet the physical demands of typical restaurant work (lifting heavy loads, kitchen heat, working under time pressure) Be capable of interacting with customers in English Be capable of addressing customer concerns or complaints in a reasonable manner Demonstrate effective interpersonal skills, client focus, and good oral communication with customers and fellow staff members Education and Experience Required: Secondary School Graduation Certificate required Kitchen Helper experience would be an asset The selected candidate shall be required to provide a clean Criminal Record Check prior to commencement of work.
